The Stewards wish to clarify that none of this happened, and yet have still reached the following decision:
Fact
Sébastien Ogier and stand-in co-driver Julien Ingrassia, reunited for the first time in five years, lead the rally after a morning that eliminated half the service park
Decision
The Stewards note that a partnership last used in 2021 has apparently required zero recalibration period, which raises uncomfortable questions for every driver who has spent years insisting that co-driver chemistry takes time to rebuild. Meanwhile Thierry Neuville's Hyundai survived a direct hit to the front-left suspension from a rock his own pace notes failed to mention, and teammate Esapekka Lappi's car did not survive a similar disagreement with a ditch. The forests of Finland have, once again, been ruled a more consistent title threat than any actual competitor.
